Clown Alley - Biography
Originating from
the circus, "Clown Alley" was the term used to describe
the aisle or tent designated for the sole use of the clowns. It was,
and still is, their own special area for dressing and storing props.
Circus tradition teaches us that an invitation into "the Alley"
was rare, and considered a unique privilege.
Our
Alley, the GeorgiaLina Clowns, began in July 1995 by six friends,
all clowns. From then on, and today, we are a group of professional
and amateur clowns committed to providing clean, quality, family entertainment
in a light-hearted manner. Our Alley is a not-for-profit organization
that donates our time and talents for worthwhile charitable
causes.
We meet once
a month, have educational meetings quarterly, and participate in events
together whenever possible. Most of our Alley members attend formal
training seminars, and all must abide by professional guidelines for
makeup, costuming and ethics.
